The queen looked at the crumpled figure of Snow White on the ground before her. No. This wasn’t right, wasn’t what she wanted. Yes, she’d been driven mad by the girl’s beauty, and yes, she had had her banished. And the satisfaction as she watched her run through the forest, branches pulling at her clothes…but not this.
She sighed and supposed she was doomed. Undone. She would lose all her power in the kingdom, but perhaps…her lip curled up. Perhaps it would be worth it, she thought as she reached for the antidote.
