It’s 6:40pm and 43˚C. That is 109.4˚ Fahrenheit. This only in melbourne. (dont trust the predicted temps lmao). Wanna know what i did today?
I had to constantly monitor my dog, cat, and hens to make sure they were breathing ok and not overheating. I had to walk outside 4 times to refill some tubs of water I left outside for random animals (birds, other peoples pets, foxes, maybe some bats if it’s a hot night) on TOP of looking after my own animals. My grandpa passed out from heatstroke on Wednesday (2 days ago) (hes fine dw). At the time he did, it was 40˚C. The average country-wide temperature that day was 41.9˚C. And this is far, FAR from over.
Temperatures as high as 46˚C were calculated on the 18/12/19
Roads in South Australia were melting in 49.9˚C heat on the 20/12/19
This is a crisis and our pig of a prime minister who shoves coal up his dickhole isn’t treating it as one. He secretly fucked off to Hawaii and New York for a family holiday, while we’re sweating and burning, while our wildlife and precious flora are becoming extinct, while two firefighters were killed and three more injured, and while he’s trying to pass a religious discrimination bill. You probably haven’t heard about that bill though. Here is a summary. I am disgusted and ashamed, but above all, angry. That is on TOP of him stating that the VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS “WANTED TO BE THERE” and donating 110K TO HIS OWN CHURCH when he was a player the decision that got the firefighting budget cut passed.
