yeah, there are a lot of edgy “misanthropes” who constantly make posts about how humanity is terrible and evil for causing stuff like pollution, climate change, and mass extinctions and so climate change is like, our karmic punishment
which ignores that a) the majority of pollution and climate change is a result of a very small number of very rich humans and b) the people facing the most negative impacts of climate change are a very large number of very poor humans

Ughhh, as a climate activist I can’t stand these people. Not only are they edgy and misanthropic, they’re just straight-up wrong. Plus they’re totally unhelpful, and they clearly don’t give a damn. We don’t need any of that crap, we need real action.

And I know some of these types of people in real life, so whenever they’re being nihilistic and edgy I just hit them with “OK doomer” and move on.
