Portrait of a beautiful albino American alligator. This is the result of a recessive gene carried by both parents and differs from a leucistic result, where the eyes have a bluish coloration and some patchy areas in the skin that contain melanin. The albino lacks melanin production and the vessels of the eyes can be seen in the pink background of them. It’s commonly said to be a myth that looking into their eyes brings good luck. I say that looking into the eyes of any gator is damn good luck.
