Question: Does anyone know when Garak actually moved to DS9/set up shop there? I’ve seen people say he lived there from years beforehand to having just arrived a couple weeks before the show starts and I haven’t seen specific evidence either way
I’ve gotten a couple answers saying he was exiled about a year before 2369. And while that could very well be when he came to the station, my question is more was he there prior to exile doing spy stuff? Was he already there and given a you’ve been exiled notice or was he kicked out on his ass from Cardassia Prime and decided to couch surf on his ol buddy Dukat’s Terok Nor?
It doesn’t seem like he was doing spy stuff on the station. I think he was sent to Terok Nor when he was exiled. Where he was before that is anyone’s guess though. He seems to have been on Prime (or at least within the Union) according to A Stitch in Time, but I am of the opinion that even that, which is supposed to be a confession, might not always be truthful.
