it's possible to show the flaws of the federation system without adding some cringy dystopian vibes and overly using the shock value effect ds9 did it well and had a full season about an intergalactic war so yeah it's possible
@ those who keep mocking the fans who think star trek picard (or even discovery) is showing unnecessary violence by bringing examples of violent scenes previously shown in other trek movies or series well let me tell you: y'all have an incredibly lazy reasoning smh you know it's more than that
what does it say about your writing and the quality of your tv show if you need to show several minutes of gratuitous graphic violence to your audience to prove a point or to try to make people feel something about the characters who are suffering or getting tortured on screen?
