Pair Universal Basic Income with Single Payer Healthcare and ALL people would actually be able to effectively stay home when they were sick and go to the doctor if their symptoms were bad enough to need it. Healthcare shouldn’t be tied to employment at all.

They are not paying aritsts anynore, but they are pocketing the saving and not reducing the cost to consumers.
