And I think those caterpillars grew up! Are these the big white butterflies you were talking about?

Ohhhh my goodness that bee is beautiful! What colors! Dang I wish we had those here. Here are the caterpillars the submitter is referring to for anyone curious. But no, actually, that’s not the same species! The butterfly in your picture here is a pioneer white and your caterpillars were definitely large whites. Pioneer white caterpillars look like this:

Chances are your caterpillars pupated and just flew off somewhere else :)
