the stem of the plant is a third of a millimeter in width, for reference, and there’s a good chance those patterns you see in the stem are the cell walls of individual plant cells (pls let me know if i’m wrong as fuck). i don’t know what to do with this info! thanks for coming
Agricultural science student here! The horizontal lines going across are most likely sieve plates, which are basically just end walls with tiny pores on the phloem. The vertical lines going down the stem of the plant show the individual xylem (transports water) and phloem (transports food). Cool photo!
