The biggest crime of DS9 by far is never showing the resolution of Quark asking Garak to kill him in the quickest, most painless way possible without him knowing it. Like we don’t see Quark go back to Garak and tell him the deal’s off once he breaks the contract with Brunt so I was really hoping to get a final scene with Garak falling out of the ceiling doing some next level Obsidian Order sneaky shit and getting like *this* close to killing Quark before overhearing that he didn’t want to sell his desiccated corpse anymore.
Picture this: Garak hasn’t been to lunch with Julian in weeks. His shop has a sign hanging that says “closed for remodeling” but there’s clearly no work being done. DS9’s computer has conflicting info about whether Garak is on the station or not. Quark has taken to just shouting “I DONT WANT TO DIE ANYMORE, GARAK. THANKS THOUGH” periodically.
