[ * = foreign film ]
[ 🌟 = if i had to chose five for you to watch tonight these would be it ]
classic slashers you probably already seen:
- A Nightmare on Elm Street
- Black Christmas (1979)
- 🌟Candyman
- Child’s Play (1 & 2 + Bride of Chucky)
- Evil Dead
- Friday the 13th (the 2009 remake starring one of the main actors from supernatural is also pretty descent honestly)
- Halloween (1, 2, and 2018)
- Hellraiser
- My Bloody Valentine (the 2009 remake starring one of the main actors from supernatural is also pretty descent honestly)
- Psycho (+ Psycho 2)
- Scream
- Texas Chainsaw Massacre (+ TCM2)
classic non-slashers you’ve also probably already seen:
- Alien
- Alien vs Predator
- Battle Royale
- The Boy
- Carrie
- The Exorcist
- The Grudge (I haven’t seen the remake yet but I’ve heard good things)
- Night of the Living Dead
- Predator
- Re-Animator (+ Bride of Re-Animator)
- The Ring
- Rosemary’s Baby
- Saw (at least the first three)
- 🌟Silence of the Lambs
- The Thing
a whole separate list for Vampire Time™ because i love them:
- Fright Night (1985)
- (there’s only two valid reasons to watch the 2011 remake and that’s Colin Farrell and David Tennant in leather pants)
- Interview With The Vampire
- The Lost Boys
- 🌟 Near Dark
- Thirst* (2009)
fuckign miscellaneous ? idk. Midsommar is here tho:
- 1922
- The Babysitter (2017) (Samara Weaving please kill me)
- Black Christmas (2019) (a good movie, i could write an essay about the title choice tho)
- Dressed to Kill (1980)
- Funny Games* (you can literally watch either the og or the ‘remake’ because the remake is just a literal shot-for-shot remake of the original film, done by the same director)
- Gerald’s Game
- 🌟Midsommar
i think my bias on this one is clear - The Mist (2007) (ft a different ending from the book that got the author’s approval !)
- The Nun (like yeah it wasn’t spectacular or groundbreaking or anything - mainly jumpscares - but you know what??? i still enjoyed the characters a lot)
- Orca: The Killer Whale! (1977) (it is not a good movie, but it is funny how bad it is)
- Quien Puede Matar a un Niño/Who Can Kill a Child?* (1976)
- Ready or Not (2019) (Samara Weaving please kill me)
- Repo! The Genetic Opera (+ Devil’s Carnival)
- Silent Hill (2006) (yeah, i liked it - fight me)
- Tourist Trap (1979) (can be found on youtube in full!)
- Veronica* (2017)
- Zombi 2/Zombie Flesh Eaters
- (not actually a sequel, but italian copyright law allows any film to be marketed as a sequel to another work so these dudes literally just put this film out and said “this is a sequel to Romero’s Night of the Living Dead” - just straight up surfed on the clout)
- (^also it’s not a ‘good‘ movie but it contains what has been consistently listed as “the #1 goriest scene from a horror movie")
- (^ also they legit just spontaneously had a stunt man - in full zombie make up - ‘fight’ a shark underwater. absolute italian mad lads)
- (the history behind this film is just Nuts™ my guy, sorry to waste like five bullet points on it)
underrated shit i will pay someone Monies™ to watch:
- 🌟 An American Werewolf in London
- Behind The Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon
- Creep ( + Creep 2)
- The Collector (+ The Collection)
- Ginger Snaps
- Hell Fest
- House of Wax (2005)
- Hush (2016)
