Running into misogynists on tumblr is like running into a nun at a monster truck rally. Like yeah there’s no reason why they wouldn’t be there but you kind of forgot they existed up until that point. And like, I really try not to use people’s feelings about nu-Trek (Disco, Picard, Lower Decks) as a litmus test for their personality as I know good people who just don’t like it, but the graphs of “dudes with overwhelmingly negative takes on the CBS All Access shows” and “dudes whose blogs are infested with misogyny and fascism” tend to overlap more often than not. (Though it doesn’t have to be about that; the internet is filled with old white dudes who hate all the new stuff simply because it doesn’t “feel” like the Trek they grew up with. Looking at you, Red Letter Media.)
