So GOP lawyers have been openly (and illegally) working with Greens in various states, trying to appeal to get them on ballots after they missed deadlines, filed improperly, etc. This would result in further delays of mail-in ballots due to them all needing to be re-printed. Not only would this hurt voters who want to use the mail (largely Democratic), as an additional round of delays would be introduced on top of everything else with the USPS, but the GOP also perceives that Greens would take votes away from the Democrats.
Well. A story in three acts:
1) Earlier this year, the GOP machine in Wisconsin required many people to vote in-person during a pandemic, assuming that would hinder turnout. And low turnout always favors Republicans.

2) But people were so fucking enraged by this attempt that they turned out in massive numbers, anyway, and in a shocker, a state Supreme Court seat flipped to the Dems.

3) Several months later, when it came time for the GOP to try to delay ballots to hurt the Democrats, that decision went to… the state Supreme Court.

Because people showed up in numbers too big to overcome in April, the GOP wasn’t able to delay people’s ballots in September.
