Vulcans say pon farr has a seven-year cycle but is it true? isn’t it more likely that there’s a lot of variance between individuals, with most Vulcans experiencing pon farr every 6-8 years and extreme cases when it happens every 3.5 years or every 10 years? we know that it’s an uncomfortable experience for most, but how much is it? are there people who breeze through it and other people who are seriously debilitated for several days even after the whole ordeal is over? did the Vulcans study the phenomenon accurately or their reticence to talk about it has kept them from researching it more? is this reluctance the reason why they still go through rituals that are, at the very least, dangerous and not guaranteed to actually work (and in fact may actually kill you) ?
I’ve wondered about some of this. I’m curious about the variations in age of onset for the first one among Vulcans. Vorik seemed barely old enough to shave while Spock was a bit older.
