it might not be obvious at first glance, but frogs do have ears!
those two big circles on the back of their heads are actually their eardrums, which they wear externally without a protective structure like a bunch of frog nudists.
they don’t really NEED a protective structure around their eardrums, though, because a frog’s inner ear is connected to their lungs! this means that they can artificially manipulate the pressure behind their eardrum easily, which both allows frogs to croak as loudly as they like as they never have to worry about an accidental eardrum rupture, and guarantees that they never have trouble on airplanes.
