I have a big post in my head about how I wish the information we got in Second Skin regarding Cardassian deep cover agents was used to make Seska a more complex and conflicted antagonist. Or how introducing the Trabe earlier in Season 2 could have made the Kazon more sympathetic.
However, there’s another, dumber, part of my brain that just wants Seska and Culluh to survive Basics and become the Team Rocket of Voyager.
No matter how far Voyager goes, inexplicably, there are Culluh and Seska waiting for them with zany schemes of increasing complexity.
Half the aliens they meet are just Seska and Culluh in rubber masks.
Every time they show up their ship is even more advanced. By the end Seska and Culluh have a fleet of stolen time ships from the future capable of conquering the entire Quadrant…but the only thing they can think to do with them is try to capture Voyager for the umpteenth time.
There’s at least one episode where they sneak on board the ship and then have to help the Voyager crew fight off an alien boarding party.
When Janeway asks why they helped, the two are just like,”Well, obviously we couldn’t let someone ELSE steal Voyager.”
Any episode that doesn’t feature Culluh and Seska will have at least one cut away where we see them working part-time jobs or rehearsing their team theme song.
