If you live in a country that isn’t the US, fight like hell. I can guarantee there are people in your nation looking at what’s happening here and liking what they see. If you are in a Western country you have white supremacists. You have nationalists and fascists. You have islamophobes and anti-semites and every strain of racist and they are biting at the bit—waiting for every inch of breathing room your governments can give them so that they can take a mile. Do not convince yourself that all your neighbors and coworkers are looking at what is happening in the US with shock, horror and pity; some of them are getting ideas and becoming emboldened. We are your canary in the fucking coal mine, but we are also a lit match: find your gas leaks and plug them up. Be vigilant. Have a zero-tolerance policy and stamp that shit out. I’m so, so tired.
