you're really in your 30s defending fanfiction as if censoring actually gross shit is like an attack on your life like get better taste lmao

lmao oh please. “actually gross shit” - bro, I never told you not to find it gross. you can find it gross, you can talk shit. what do I care? but it’s still fiction. it’s fiction, my dude! no one is actually getting victimized. and so, the way this shit works is for there to be a free and equitable platform in which art - including the kind you take no issue with - can be shared, then the gross art gets to exist, too. that’s just how it works. I understand that it makes you uncomfortable and I even agree that it’s gross, but censorship still isn’t the answer. as long as there is art there is going to be hella problematic art and your only job is to curate your own experience and consume fanworks (and the internet in general) responsibly. good luck out there!
Looool. The thing that kills me about those kinds of anons - and they’re always anons, because they don’t have enough courage in their convictions to show their faces - is that they sound just like Leopards Eating People’s Faces Party supporters. They stomp their righteous little feet about that Disgusting Problematic Content and how it should be banned and the people writing/drawing it should be publicly flogged or whatever the fuck, as if the constantly moving goalposts aren’t gonna catch them one day. What the fuck is ‘actually gross shit’? Sounds like a pretty fucking nebulous and easily twisted concept to me. I’d bet money that one day they’ll be the ones shipping something that some other person will suddenly decide is ‘actually gross shit’ and go on a crusade to have banned because they also can’t figure out how to curate their own fucking fandom experience like the rest of us have been doing for decades, and suddenly that anon will be in the disgusting degenerates camp too. Suddenly they’ll be morally bankrupt because they made the mistake of wanting to see two fictional characters fuck each other in a scenario someone else finds questionable, and then they’ll find themselves on the other side of the fence wondering why the hell some anonymous rando who’s probably young enough to be their child is whining at them that they’re ignorant and tasteless for choosing to engage with something that’s ultimately entirely harmless.
Anon, why don’t you go hang out with some radical fundamentalist groups and protest outside cinemas and bookshops that actually make money off the back of Problematic content, rather than harassing people in a space that’s dominated by queer people and women making stuff for free and curating their own experience like you ought to be able to do as well. Or maybe you could just take a step back and realise how fucking ridiculous and puritanical you sound.
