Let homeless people occupy peopleless homes, build houses for use rather than exchange, 3D print comfortable houses in a day, convert corporate skyscrapers into housing and commercial malls into publicly-accessible community centers with living commons and entertainment
When you say it to people and they break
“But the money? … we can’t just? But, Money? We can’t just… help… people? Can we? The Money. We can’t just help people? Like that? We can’t just? Money?”
This is one of those problems that as a kid sounded so difficult and complex but as an adult it sounds like a preschool problem
Have millions of empty houses? Put people without houses there.
That’s the thing though, it wasn’t even hard as a kid. If you were to ask a child what they would do to help homeless people, I’d be fairly certain they would say “give them homes” or something along those lines. It’s not that the question is difficult to answer for anyone, it’s that the answer goes against capitalism.
