Thinking about names in alien cultures
Are there common names, like John or Emily or Sue? Do they come from religious/cultural texts or is that considered sacrilegious? What if there's a bunch of Kahlesses walking about on QonoS?
Do Bajorans name their children after current/previous Kais and Vedeks? Are there name trends that older generations find ridiculous, weird spellings, uNiQuE pronunciations, useless punctuation? What if someone idolised Kira and called their daughter Neigh'Reighs after her??
What if Klingons with the same given name referred to each other as "son/daughter of ____" or made nicknames for each other? How do you even shorten a Klingon name when most of them are one syllable? Is there someone who calls Gowron Ron?????
IS THERE A REASON WHY LITERALLY EVERY VULCAN WOMAN'S NAME STARTS WITH T' ????????? LIKE WE GOT T'PAU T'POL T'PEL T'PRING SURELY IT GETS A BIT T'IRING AFTER A WHILE
once again tuvok is a king because he skipped this tradition and named his daughter “asil”!
