I gotta say, I love the fact that Damar initially betrays the Dominion for this ideal of Cardassia - that his people deserve better than the Dominion, that they’ve been conquered, and Cardassia shouldn’t abide that. And then by the end, Damar has realized that Cardassia was its own worst enemy in some ways, and it’s not enough to liberate Cardassia - some parts of Cardassia need to stay dead.
