encounter at farpoint is so fucking funny to me because if I was just some rando scientist on my comfortable new assignment and all of that happened to me on my FIRST DAY!!?? I’d quit
I always wonder if the shit that goes down in Star Trek happens to all the ships in Starfleet or if it’s just these ones where people get constantly duplicated and kidnapped.
Log entry from Saratoga: Today we encountered a new species on a planet with pleasant climate. First contact initiated. Everything went smoothly. I am about to attend a birthday party in the Mess Hall.
Log entry from Enterprise: [Distant sound of Picard sighing] Commander Riker and lieutenant Worf has been recovered, although the issue of returning them to a normal size remains. Decks 9 through 14 are slowly shifting back into our dimension and counselor Troi reports the replicators are no longer thinking about mutiny. I endeavor to take a nap.
