Still laughing about the audacity of the DS9 domentary's "feminist" montage to "Bitch"
Like yes Ira Steven Behr it's true DS9 had a lot of laudable accomplishments in that area- I have always said that Kira and Dax were the first Star Trek women to be fully fleshed out characters who were focused on as much as the men, you have stuff to be proud of but a "Bitch" monologue??? Could you be more self-congratulatory?
Yeah you did. Pretty good. Miles better than what came before but that's a low bar. You still had 2 women and 7 men in the cast though. Nana Visitor had to wear jumpsuits and Terry Farrell had to wear inserts in her bra. Rick Berman didn't treat Terry Farrell like that for you make a montague to "Bitch." Quark didn't get to be irrascibly sexist teehee for you to make a montague to "Bitch." I have to laugh.
It's ironic because the song is about how complex one woman is, but they choose a different woman for each descriptor which kind of misses the point.
