I’ve said this before when I get asks about Zatara, but the fact is that answers will vary depending on what point in her life the response if from. That being said…

Because Zatara dresses scandalously by Cardassian standards and because she is very comfortable in her sexuality, most people assume she is a whore - or at the very least, easy to get into bed. Truth be told, she is very discerning about who she shares that aspect of herself with. She’s not afraid to use her sexuality and flirtatiousness to get information when it suits her, but she usually ends things or eliminates the target before consummating the act.

A fun fact that most people don’t know about her meaning other Cardassians? Or readers of this blog? I assume you meant other in-universe characters… Most people in her life do not know that she was a protege of Enabran Tain (though if you read this blog, you probably DO know that), who basically raised her. I was actually just thinking about an idea for a story in which Damar asks her about her childhood. It’s after the war and Cardassia is still desolated. Zatara, whom was expected to be infertile because of her genetic abnormalities, falls pregnant quite unexpectedly. While Damar is excited at the prospect of having a child, he questions Zatara about her past, something she has been illusive about; he tells her that he loves her, but finds it odd that they’re going to have a child together and yet there are parts of her life that he knows so little about. As you can imagine, she doesn’t react well to his “prying” initially, and it takes her some time to tell him the truth about her past.

Something she can’t give up… The few people who care about her, Garak and Damar. She’s known so little affection in her life and (as loathe as she would be to admit it) once she’s had it, she finds it damn near impossible to go without.
