me: very dark of all the DS9 characters to weaponise the vorta’s cloning against them and treating them like disposable objects, without any regard for the feelings the vorta in question might have developed in relationship to their mortality. extra grim that the vorta are genetically engineered to still be loyal and even kill and active the “replacements” of their own kind in the cloning facilities should they be ordered to, in a process that seems almost bureaucratic, even though the vorta themselves are clearly scared of dying and hurt by the thought that someone they love should find them useless and replaceable. from what we’ve seen they clearly have a will to survive, yet they cannot run from the inevitability of their (mostly brutal and/ or grotesque) deaths, sometimes by their own hands in the form of implants, using even the agency over their own bodies against them. fucked up man
