true crocodiles are actually pretty rare on the ground in the western hemisphere!
you can’t swing half a dead goat in any significant water feature in a warm-temperate region of north, central, or south america without attracting an alligatoroid of some kind, but there are only FOUR species of true crocodile out there, mostly found in mexico and the caribbean, so it’s pretty unlikely you’ll stumble across one regardless of how many goat war crimes you’re committing! (also they’re all critically endangered, so, you know. even LESS likely)
