If you let your cat outside completely unchipped and without a collar, I think it should be free game to take them. Because if I don’t, then a coyote will.
My cat is microchipped AND wears a collar stating that she is an indoor cat and providing my number in case she ever gets out and gets lost. And listen, getting a personalized collar costs less than $10 and getting your cat microchipped costs somewhere between $25 and $45. If you’re giving your cat quality care (which I highly doubt you are since they’re an outdoor cat) then that fee is a drop in the bucket in compared to the financial investment you’ve made in terms of your cat’s veterinary fees, food, enrichment etc. Do the BARE MINIMUM.
Honestly imo, if somebody's putting their cat outside w no collar and no microchip, that's not their cat anymore. They abandoned the cat and it's only their fault if somebody takes it in since they weren't taking care of it in the first place. "Outdoor cat" is just a socially acceptable term for pet neglect.
Yep. Exactly. My thought process. But it’s a more controversial opinion than you would think.
