I’m not sure what you mean “weirder than usual” because birbs are pretty funky little creatures! Or big creatures.

I’m fascinated by them because they truly are like living dinosaurs in so many ways. Cassowary are just incredible. I mean, it’s so hard to say what it’s like because every individual animal has its own personality, just like humans, so each experience is very different.

I will say that a few years ago I was working with a bonded pair of rhinoceros hornbill and it always blew my mind just how intelligent they were compared to some of their bird cousins.
