Of course financial support is always appreciated, so please do visit / donate when you can, but there are lots of other ways to get involved.

If you have the time, one of the best things you can do to support your local AZA accredited zoo (or sanctuary or nature center or rehab facility) is volunteer! Most facilities have volunteer programs with a lot of options when it comes to time commitment, as well as widely varied activities.

Follow and interact with them on social media to help keep up visibility. Share posts, conservation programs, special events, etc.

Many zoos and sanctuaries are eligible for donations through programs like Amazon Smile, so that’s a good way to donate indirectly. Every penny helps!

I would say just give them a call or shoot them an email and ask them directly what would be the most effective way for you to help. They’ll know best what their needs are and how you can be most helpful. :)
