Each home has a ceramic basin at their doorstep and it is customary to wash the feet of guests before entering.

I could probably spend hours overthinking how their feet might actually be constructed, but I went with basically human but their hallux is a bit shorter/further back.
And some very fashionable Egyptian inspired sandals.
