my partner has to do this for me, even if he's with me and I'm just reading things out from the list. turns out I have severe ADHD.

maybe OP's husband doesn't, or maybe he does. either way, I'm sure there's a reason for this that isn't "he's stupid". and for everyone who has issues like this who have seen these comments accusing them of sucking on car tailpipes or having severe dementia, I'm sorry. what people find "simple" is not universal, and you're not stupid for not "getting" it.

when joking about matters like this, I think it's important to remember that there comes a certain point where you're punching down. generalising it to "you're stupid if you can't perform basic tasks" is shitting on a lot of people who feel that way anyway, and would really, really love it if these tasks were as simple as everyone makes them out to be.

I'm so glad the “how can I make this all about me” side of tumblr has found this post. Fun fact, I also have severe ADHD, which often makes shopping a chore because either a) yes, I need the list organized by department or b) I will shop “Roomba-style” meaning I walk through every aisle until I've covered the entire store. That being said, this post is not about that. It’s pretty clear from the original tweet and the tweeter’s comments that this was not about her husband struggling with ADHD, dyslexia or some other condition, it’s about her needlessly gendered language and perpetuation of the stereotype that men can’t do “lady” things. And if you actually read the replies to the tweet you can't see people are mocking specifically that. I am on my knees begging everyone on this website to develop reading comprehension and stop leaving comments like this on people’s posts
