Also “Soup kitchens were invented by the government after destroying Black radical organisers […]” this is categorically false, this is not the origins of soup kitchens at all. The general concept of donating food to the hungry has pretty much always existed everywhere, which makes sense really as it is inherently illogical to let people starve while others have too much. Why would there have been any generation where absolutely no one could see that?
According to Wikipedia, the modern idea of a soup kitchen was started in 1790s, by some inventor who believed strongly in hunger relief. They became fairly widespread and, far from being an invention of the government, were actually made illegal in Britain for a chunk of time, along with other forms of aid, up to the Irish famine where the laws against it were relaxed.
Due to the migration of Irish people to the USA after the famine the idea of soup kitchens spread over there during the 1870s.
