The real hero of Star Trek First Contact is Lily Sloane 

She goes to save the Phoenix when the Borg sphere is firing down on them while Cochrane ran away, she dominated the Enterprise looking after herself, gets the captain hostage but listens to him and the helps to work with him despite having NO CLUE about star ships like Picard’s, and calls out Picard for actions (while the crew on the bridge just deal with it) and his hatred of the Borg and how it is clouding his decisions. 

She is incredible and the hero of First Contact
