not enough popular attention paid to the fact that garak is also 100% coming on to sisko the first time they have a conversation
I love the man deeply, but ben is as far out of his league as jadzia is out of julian’s haha
oh sisgarak is 100% dead on arrival for that reason and also because sisko has a kid to look after and garak is a latent threat to literally everybody around him and NOT a role model. but he also appreciates insane audacity when it makes his job more interesting and seems to tolerate garak way more than any of his other evil admirers and garak knows this and also that the lower his chances are the higher the risk/reward and he knows sisko knows he knows this so it’s just like “Mr. Garak you’re clearly very charming but I WILL be keeping my eye on you” “Hahaha and then what ;)” “Basically nothing :)” and then they just play comparatively respectful mind games, and some very disrespectful ones too, for another 5 seasons. this is why its good actually
