Don't let this die. Taylor Swift is the Pollution Queen now. We need meme edits with her photoshopped onto backgrounds of wildfire-ravaged landscapes and oil refineries chugging out black smoke.

Photo of smudgy black eye shadow? That's THE Taylor Swift-inspired look now, it represents fossil fuels.

We need parodies of Taylor Swift songs about pollution and killing polar bears.

Give her representatives a full-time job for the rest of their lives defending her from the phrase "Pollution Queen." Make this meme a the figurehead of an entire fleet of other celebrity-terrorizing memes.

"But this doesn't dismantle the system that—" Shut. Don't care. Isn't it great that such a huge portion of environmental damage is being done by human individuals with egos, whose feelings can be hurt when people are mean?

Money can save you from physical harm, but can it save you from looking ridiculous?

i'm just saying that if ridicule did nothing, celebrities wouldn't pay people to defend them on social media.

Doesn't matter if you can't take away the real concrete power of the rich and powerful. They're humans. They're still running Human Psyche 1.0. They wanna be liked and feel good about themselves, and they've probably got egos the size of Texas. They're all people that haven't been told "no" since 1996.

You still have the power to deny reverence to those who demand it. J*ff B*zos could be God-King of the Planet and have you executed by firing squad, and you could still call him "Nasty Fart Man" with your dying breath.

In cultures across the planet, the Trickster is an archetype endowed with some form of divinity. It is a reality of the universe: things that humans endow with meaning, are dependent on humans to make them meaningful. Tricksters turn gender, class, and other forms of social hierarchy upside down. They use the vices of the powerful against them. They make the cunning get caught in their own traps. The Trickster is my favorite archetype. It contains a crucial ingredient of hope.

The more perfect and intricate the gears that grind us down, the worse they respond to a thrown wrench. Governments are bloated, flailing piles of red tape and evil paper, as stupid as they are corrupt. Bullets are real, and every once in a while, they miss. You understand now that we are in the belly of a horrible system. Now, ask an engineer about the machine we are raging against.

Do you think the lawns of the mansions occupied by the most powerful men on earth are, at this moment, entirely free of dandelions?

Despair, despair, despair everywhere, because so many people have understood the reality of a system that runs on inequality enforced by coercive power. Capitalism is a god, with the crucial flaw of a god: it can damn you, but it can't make you worship.

When you are asked to revere its altars as sacred, understand that it's a confession of weakness: if you pissed here, it would hurt.
