me and the baby were getting ready to go outside and my mom went to switch on the dishwasher and the baby yelled "ba!!!!" and ran for the dishwasher. so I said "I think [baby] would like to push the button to turn the dishwasher on" and my mom was like "oh ok I'll wait"
so he ran over to the cabinet under the sink and went for the dishwasher soap pod container
and my mom was like "oh I actually already put the soap in! all you have to do is hit the button!"
and the baby fell to his knees and threw his head back and took a great breath and wailed a wail of such anguish as to darken the face of the heavens
and my mom was like "...sorry?" and the baby slumped back on his heels against the cabinet door and clenched his fists and wept and moaned and I was like "buddy do you want to check the soap to make sure nana put it in right?" and he sobbed "dzyeah"
so we opened the dishwasher door and I reached down to open the soap compartment but he whacked my hand aside so he could open it himself, and then closed it, slammed the dishwasher door closed, and pushed the on button. and then turned around looking like tom cruise at the end of a mission impossible movie like "no one will ever know what we did this day. to save them all from destruction. it is a high and lonely destiny"
